I have used this pencil for years. It became difficult to find in the dark blonde shade so I have tried different brands and styles but never found another as good. I finally was able to find it again and although they are now almost 3X the money I bought several. Not sure if these are as good as the original as I’ve only recently received them but I’m pleased to have found them again. To start with, I don't know much about make up. I started using an eye-liner, mascara and lipstick ocasionally when I was about 22 (I'm 26 now, so I added the occasional concealer to the mix) and around the same time, I realized the reason I look horrible in pictures were my somewhat sparse eyebrows. Since I didn't know much about make up I just went into a Mac store and a guy sold me the lingering eye brow pencil and that thing that keeps your eyebrow and the color in place. Since then I never thought about getting something better although the eyebrow pencil is the only thing I use almost everyday and go through kind of fast (my definition of fast is about 3 months).Recently I decided to save up some money, started to look around for something more economical and read that the medium brown of Define-A-Brow is a dupe for the lingering. I'm very happy to say that this definitely is not a dupe. It's way better. I'm sure people who are into make up know about better products, but for 5 bucks I can't ask for anything more.First of all, I find it much easier to apply than the lingering. Although I like to have my eyebrows look natural and not too sculpted, I would have to go over the same spot a thousand times to get in some color with the mac pencil. I always felt like I was kind of damaging my eyebrows. With this pencil, a soft stroke gives much more color. With that, the look becomes much more natural because you don't go over the same spot a thousand times. I fill in my brows with a few very soft strokes, blend with a spoolie or the cute little comb the pencil comes with, and it looks like I was born with those brows.Another thing I (accidentally) realized about this pencil is you almost get two pencils in one. With softer and sparse application you get a lighter color. When I accidentally applied a bit more force, I had darker brows, that also looked as natural (which I liked for a more nightish look). I don't know, maybe that's the case for every pencil and I sound stupid but at least that wasn't the case for my previous pencil. I have light-medium brown hair and fair skin and for a reason my eyebrows have a cold/grayish tone that I very much dislike. I was worried that the medium brown would be too dark on my skin or compared to my hair but it definitely matches my hair and it is just a bit darker than my hair color with the more powerful application. In terms of the duration it stays on your brows, I honestly have no idea because I'm still using that mac thing that protects it from fading, but I'll definitely look for an alternative for that as well once I run out.I have tried so many different products for my eyebrows over the years (pencils, powders, waxes, gels) and nothing has ever come close to the Dark Blonde Maybelline pencil! Before I get into the color itself, I'll say this: the pencil is easy to apply, goes on perfectly (not too soft), looks natural and stays put all day (I finish my brows with a swipe of brow gel to keep the hairs in place and I rarely have to reapply the pencil despite having a bald spot in one brow). My only complaint is the little comb on the end. It works fine but a spoolie would be much better.I have dark brown eyebrows and medium brown hair with a very fair complexion and freckles. Before trying the dark blonde I tried both the light brown and the medium brown pencil. The light brown pencil had too much of a red hue to it which is a very common problem with brow products. The medium brown pencil was a nice neutral brown and actually matched my brows perfectly but although it was a perfect color match, it easily started looking too dark and fake when I was filling in my one bald spot and evening out the rest of my brows. I am not a fan of the painted on brow look--I just want them to look very thick, tidy and natural...like I was born with beautiful brows. The thing is, I've experienced this problem of brows easily looking too dark with almost every other product I've tried as well despite always getting the color that actually matched my eyebrows.A few weeks ago I was reading an article in one of my magazines about using a brow pencil that's a shade lighter than your eyebrows. They said it made for a much more natural look. Since i really liked the Maybelline brow pencil already, I decided to try the Dark Blonde color. All I have to say is Hallelujah! I'm a believer!! My brows have never looked better! The light blonde color blends seamlessly with my dark brown brows and my brows look perfectly groomed yet natural. One little tip I learnt: after I'm done applying the Dark Blonde pencil to my entire brows (filling in the bald spot and evening and filling out the rest of the brows), I use the medium brown pencil to draw a few fine hairs on top of the blonde pencil in the bald spot. Works like a charm!I love this pencil, as it is less eye-brow liner, than a super-model enhancement apparatus. In just minutes of applying this, I have amazing perfectly shaped eyebrows- which have me ready for cameras and catwalks!! However....If I am not careful, I can also turn into a super villain. Use this pencil with much responsibility! This is the first eyebrow pencil I have ever used and I am so pleased with it. It doesn't go on too heavy so it's not too much for me and it looks quite natural, although I'm sure with more application it could get a lot darker.i won't recommend this it's horrible don't wast your money its not worth it.Amazing product, matched my hair perfectly. Stayed on for a long time and was easy to use! Will definitely purchase again - very happy customer! Also, delivery was very prompt :)Fast delivery,I am happy with this item, it works well
